For me, cycling is predominantly focussed around pleasure; it's about the experience and the adventure. Frequency is often driven by the desire to keep fit, but if the parameters aren't right (weather, mood etc), then my motivation levels are often at zero! As a consequence of this years bad weather, I had ashamedly slipped into cycling hibernation, which is where #30daysofbiking rode in to save the day.

Having stumbled across the 30 Days Of Biking site a month back, it presented me with the kind of motivation I was looking for — Bike somewhere every day for 30 days (in April). In their own words "Joining 30 Days of Biking means that even if you’re biking solo, you’re never alone. We’re cheering you on from all around the globe." For me it was purely about the commitment; signing up to something and seeing it through. 16 days in and I've managed to stay true to the pledge, regardless of weather, work and other commitments — A pledge I'm determined to see through to the end.

Registration for 30 Days of Biking 2013 has now closed. However, you can still participate by posting on their Facebook page, tweeting with #30daysofbiking, or blogging to your heart’s content. Above you will see some iPhone snaps from my personal 30 Days Of Biking adventure.
